Stefanos Village was designed with the central idea of bringing people in contact with nature. It was integrated with respect to its natural environment, adapted to the natural terrain and added quality to the landscape.
Stefanos Village is a small neighborhood of the traditional settlement of Myrthios and follows the local traditional architecture, expressed in modern times. The apartments are arranged in an amphitheatrical staggered layout, which follows the terrain and allows each apartment to have an unobstructed view of the sea and the bay of Plakias.
The public areas (reception, bar, restaurant, restaurant, swimming pool, etc.) are located on the first level of the complex and have an unobstructed view of the sea. The apartments are located on the higher levels and each apartment is independent, with a private entrance and a private balcony or terrace. Furthermore, there are autonomous luxury villas (Cretan Houses) that operate independently within the complex, with complete privacy.
The buildings are constructed with local materials using modern methods and means. Local stone, wood and glass dominate the visible materials. The extensive use of glass brings about unlimited panoramic views, while providing protection from the winds.
Traffic within Stefanos Village is organized in a hierarchical network, where vehicle movements are separated from pedestrian movements. A small private driveway leads from the public road to the hotel’s parking lot, ensuring privacy for guests. Pedestrian movement is through narrow horizontal paved walkways connected by stairs or ramps for vertical movement.
